Regional and National referees and candidates need a current fitness test. A pass counts for the certification year right after the 12 months it falls in, and only for one year. Every part must pass: sprints, intervals, and the CODA for assistant referee tests.
How the test works
- Sprints: 6 × 40 m for referees, 5 × 30 m for assistant referees, each within your standard. One missed sprint is allowed and made up with one extra sprint; two misses is a fail. A trip or fall gets a free retry.
- Intervals: 10 laps of 75 m run / 25 m walk. The first time you miss the recovery zone is a caution; the second is a fail.
- CODA (assistant referee tests): change-of-direction test, two tries.
- Arrive 35 minutes before the start. Bring running shoes and water.
- Results are written down on the day and entered afterwards; you'll hear from us.
